Online meeting focuses on implementation of CAREC Programme

Representatives of a number of ministries and sectoral departments of Turkmenistan took part in the online meeting of officials of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Programme for Regional Economic Cooperation in Central Asia (CAREC). The agenda included the progress of the implementation of this Programme until 2030, and the issues of further development of multilateral cooperation.

The meeting participants discussed pre-project study on the health sector and tourism development until 2030, and the draft 2030 Gender Strategy.

Using CAREC as a platform, the Asian Development Bank, whose activities are aimed at stimulating economic growth in Asia, takes an active part in financing investment projects in Turkmenistan and other countries of the region. The Bank maintains close contacts with member states through capital investments.

As noted, the implementation of strategies in priority areas within the framework of this Programme is designed to promote productive cooperation, attract large investments for the implementation of significant projects, and promote regional ties to reach a qualitatively new level of innovative growth in Asian countries.
