THE NEW AMBASSADOR OF THE STATE OF QATAR TO TURKMENISTAN PRESENTED COPIES OF HIS CREDENTIALS

On December 9, 2022, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan B. Myatiev met with the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Turkmenistan Hamad bin Rashid bin Hamad Al-Azbi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Ambassador of the State of Qatar presented copies of his credentials. B. Myatiev congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to a high diplomatic post and wished him success in strengthening relations between our two countries. The Ambassador thanked the Turkmen side for the congratulations and good wishes in connection with his appointment as the Ambassador of his country to Turkmenistan.

The Deputy Minister said that on December 9 this year, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution on the opening of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the State of Qatar. In this regard, a request was made by the Turkmen side to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar to provide the necessary assistance within the framework of international rules in the opening of the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan.

The parties spoke about the importance of high-level visits and the consistent holding of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries.

The diplomats discussed issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. In this regard, the Turkmen side, noting the importance of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Qatari Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, proposed to hold the next third meeting of the commission in Ashgabat in the first half of 2023.

In addition, the parties noted the need to hold Days of Culture, joint conferences, forums and exhibitions. The importance of cooperation in the field of education and sports was emphasized.
