Flowers were laid at the monument of Magtymguly Fragi in Tashkent
On August 1, 2024, in Tashkent, within the framework of Friendship Week, a ceremony of laying flowers at the monument of the great Eastern thinker, classic of Turkmen literature Magtymguly Fragi, located on Magtymguly Street in the Uzbek capital, took place.
The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan Sh.Meredov, Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign countries under the Ministry of culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan R.Kurbanov, Chairman of the Republican Turkmen Cultural Center in Tashkent G.Avezdurdyeva and the employees of the Center, as well as representatives of the Union of Writers, higher educational institutions, Turkmen Diaspora and mass media of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Speakers at the event noted that today Magtymguly Fragi’s poems are translated into many languages of the world and enjoy great popularity.
As was emphasized, the poet’s work is of great importance in strengthening Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation, based on centuries-old ties of friendship and good neighborliness.
