Telephone conversation between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

On august 12 of this year, took place a telephone conversation between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov.

At the beginning of the conversation, the sides congratulated each other on the day of the Caspian Sea, which is celebrated annually on the Caspian states on August 12 in connection with the performance in 2006, after enter in force of the Framework Convention for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Caspian Sea.

The foreign ministers of Turkmenistan and Russia discussed issues related to further development of bilateral cooperation, including the partnership in the economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as cooperation in the Caspian region.
