Media forum focuses on Turkmenistan’s contribution to strengthening good-neighborly relations in the Caspian Region

Those speaking during the 4th Caspian Media Forum held in Astrakhan, that the Turkmen delegation participates in, put forward an initiative to hold working meetings of the Caspian Editorial Office, a noncommercial association of TV media of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Iran, and Astrakhan Region) in various littoral cities. One of such places could be, for example, the Avaza National tourism zone. According to many participants of the forum, they would like to visit Avaza. The excellent conditions for recreation and organization of international events of any level have been created in the young resort that becomes very popular these days. 

The President of Turkmenistan set the clear goals to Turkmen journalists - to study and introduce the latest media technologies, to strengthen their positions in the international information space, to create a credible image of the country and to tell about our transformations, accomplishments and initiatives, the main goals of which are to promote the interests of all peoples, and ensure the sustainable development of countries and regions, to the readers and viewers all around the world. 

The Turkmen delegation’s participation in the representative media forum opens up new opportunities for establishing business relations with foreign colleagues, sharing experiences and creating joint projects. 

The seminars for young journalists and a working meeting of the Caspian Editorial Office, with the participation of Alexander Zhilkin, Governor of the Astrakhan Region, were organized at the Azimut Hotel on the last day of the forum. 

Speaking during the meeting, the Governor of the Astrakhan Region underlined the great contribution of the President of Turkmenistan to the development of good neighborly relations in the Caspian region and the great importance of his initiatives put forward at the 5th summit of the heads of the Caspian states. Noting that the wide coverage of the forthcoming Caspian Economic Forum, which will be held in Turkmenistan next year, ranks among the tasks set to the mass media representatives in the region, the Governor expressed confidence that this event would allow bringing the trade and economic cooperation in the region up to the new level. 

Congratulating our journalists on the victories in the creative contest "The Caspian Sea without borders", held within the framework of the Caspian Media Forum, A. Zhilkin underlined that this year the large delegation from Turkmenistan participated in the meeting that vividly testifies to the high level of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan region. 

The issues on strengthening cooperation between journalists from the Caspian countries were discussed in the framework of the working meeting of the Caspian Editorial Office as well as during the media forum. It was underlined the interest of Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan media in widening cooperation with Turkmen colleagues. 

The specific issues that are of particular interest to the Caspian countries, in particular, the Avaza National tourism zone, the international sports and cultural events that are held in Turkmenistan among others were discussed during the meetings.
