Special edition on the development of the economy of Turkmenistan is published

The growth of the GDP of Turkmenistan in 2019 consisted of 6.3 % including the 4.1% in the industrial sector, 14.2% in trade, and 10.1% in transport and communication sphere. These indicators serve as a proof of significant work carried out in all the spheres of national economy of Turkmenistan under the leadership of the Head of State. The results of the activities in economic, financial and banking sectors of Turkmenistan visually presented in the special edition dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan. 

 

As is known, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pays great attention to the development of the national economy. The Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the population of Turkmenistan, and the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, with their structural divisions, play a large role in the country's economic development. The above edition speaks about the activities of these departments, as well as a number of other key structures that make an important contribution to the economic growth of the country.

 

As noted in this publication, to expand international cooperation, in accordance with the policies of the President of Turkmenistan aimed at developing the country's economy and improving the well-being of citizens, fruitful cooperation is being conducted with the United Nations and its reputable bodies (such as the International Labour Organization, the Development Programme, the Children’s Fund, Population Fund and others). In this regard, within the framework of the international High-Level Conference “Turkmenistan and international organizations: cooperation for peace and development” held in Ashgabat in 2020 “Turkmenistan – Homeland of Neutrality”, the Annual Work Plan for 2020 “Enhancing Access to Quality Data” was signed between the State Committee on Statistics of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Children’s Fund. 

 

There was also noted that the main aims and objectives of development of the banking system of Turkmenistan are defined in “The State Programme for development of the banking system of Turkmenistan in 2011–2030”, “The State Programme for development of economic, financial and banking systems of Turkmenistan in 2019–2025” and “The Conception of Digital Economy Development in Turkmenistan for 2019–2025” approved under the Resolutions of President of Turkmenistan.
