ISSUES OF COOPERATION BETWEEN TURKMENISTAN AND SAUDI ARABIA HAVE BEEN DISCUSSED
On October 13, 2020, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan B.Matiev had a meeting by video conferencing with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for political and economic issues, Mr. Adel Sirazh Saleh.
At the beginning of the meeting, a constructive dialogue took place on promising areas for the development of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was noted that regular meetings at various levels contribute to the intensification and deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation on all spectra of mutual interest. In this context, mutual readiness was expressed to expand bilateral dialogue and organize visits by delegations of the two countries.
The diplomats considered the possibilities of expanding the political and diplomatic dialogue, including the further development of cooperation between the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries. In this context, the important role of political consultation was noted.
Possibilities of strengthening inter-parliamentary ties were considered. The parties spoke about topical issues of Turkmen-Saudi relations, including the spheres of economy and investment in transport, trade, construction, chemical industry and agriculture. In this context, the parties discussed issues of diversification of the export components of Turkmen-Saudi cooperation.
Noting their commitment to strengthening bilateral cultural and humanitarian relations, the parties noted their interest in developing contacts in the fields of education, science, sports and tourism. They also emphasized the need to continue holding mutual Days of Culture as the current epidemiological situation on a global scale normalizes.
