President of Turkmenistan receives Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Turkmenistan Isabelle Guisnel.
The diplomat thanked the President of Turkmenistan for the opportunity of a personal meeting and, presenting her credentials, conveyed warm greetings from President of France Emmanuel Macron, who attaches great importance to fruitful cooperation with independent neutral Turkmenistan.
Greeting the ambassador and congratulating her on the appointment to the post, the Turkmen leader conveyed his best wishes to the President of France. It was emphasized that Turkmenistan paid special attention to strengthening the interstate dialogue, built on the principles of equality, trust and mutual benefit.
As noted, consistently implementing the foreign policy course based on the principles of positive neutrality, peacefulness and broad international partnership, our country was committed to developing relations with France - both in a bilateral and multilateral format, including within the framework of constructive interaction with the European Union.
Exchanging views on the status and prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation, the President of Turkmenistan and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France expressed satisfaction with the interest of the parties in diversifying the partnership.
Underling the effective character of the long-term interaction and the existing enormous potential for its intensification, the diplomat underlined that this became possible largely due to the constructive policy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who pays great attention to the development of full-scale cooperation with European countries.
She also noted that the Turkmen leader’s proactive approach to building a political, economic and cultural dialogue predetermined the success of many important joint projects implemented in recent years in various fields.
That is vividly exemplified by the established fruitful contacts between our country and the largest French companies that take an active part in the successful implementation of the programs for the socio-economic development of Turkmenistan.
Confirming the mutual commitment of the countries to the progressive development of interstate relations, the interlocutors identified the priority areas of cooperation, including the fuel and energy sector, trade and economic sphere, communications, ecology, water management, urban planning, etc.
The importance of enhancing cooperation in the spheres of science, culture, education, health care, as well as sports and tourism was emphasized. The Ambassador of France expressed particular interest in establishing contacts with the International Ahalteke Horse Breeding Association and the "Turkmen Alabai" Association.
It was also expressed the interest in deepening interstate cooperation in the field of archeology and space. Particular attention was paid to the events and joint work to be held in 2021, which was declared the International Year of Peace and Trust at the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Underlining the efficient character of the political consultations held in June this year, the President of Turkmenistan and the Ambassador of France noted the importance of holding such bilateral negotiations, which would allow determining priority spheres of interests.
Once again thanking for the opportunity of a personal meeting and good wishes, Mrs. Guisnel assured the Turkmen leader that she would apply her knowledge and experience to ensure progressive development of multifaceted interstate cooperation.
