CIS cultural workers discuss development of theatre art
On occasion of the 25th anniversary of the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan, theatre directors of the CIS member states held online meeting.
Special Representative of Russian President on International Cultural Cooperation, Co-Chair of the Board of the International Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation, representative of the Russian Federation, RF Representative in the Council for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Mikhail Shvydkoy, Executive Director of the of the International Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation, Anatoly Iksanov participated in the online meeting, organized with the assistance of the International Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation.
Cultural figures, famous directors and artistic directors of leading theaters from Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan took an active part in the videoconference meeting.
From the Turkmen side, the heads of the Ministry of Culture, theaters, representatives of the creative intelligentsia and student youth took part in the meeting, which was held via videoconference at Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater.
Among the topics discussed are the theater of today, the relationship with the audience, the role of directors in staging plays by classics and contemporaries, myths and legends of the peoples of the world on the theater stage and other issues of the further development of theatre art.
As noted, the theater will always be popular. Despite busyness and accelerated pace of our life, people will always find time to visit it, at least to escape from reality and enjoy the wonderful world of art.
Those speaking during the meeting emphasized the importance of the humanitarian component as an integral factor of multi-vector cooperation in the CIS space, strengthening friendly and trusting relations between CIS peoples, which stand for stability and security throughout the Eurasian continent.
The systematic development of mutually beneficial partnership with the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States is prioritized by the foreign policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. As an associate member of the CIS, Turkmenistan is building up cooperation in the field of culture.
Meeting participants emphasized the importance of deepening traditional cooperation between the CIS member states in the humanitarian sphere, promoting the establishment of close contacts and mutual exchange of experience between representatives of the artistic workshop.
