INTERNATIONAL FORUM ON NORTHERN ECONOMIC COOPERATION - A NEW PLATFORM FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF CULTURAL AND HUMANITARIAN DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE COUNTRIES
On October 30, 2020, the International Forum on Northern Economic Cooperation was held in Seoul in the format of a video conference, where a video message from the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was broadcast.
In his speech, the Head of state detailed the position of Turkmenistan on expanding international economic, trade and investment cooperation in Eurasia. He emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between peoples linked by common historical, cultural and civilization values.
Turkmenistan considers this representative Forum as a kind of revival of the Great Silk Road.
“Comprehension of the accumulated centuries-old experience and its practical adaptation to current realities and conditions - this is how, in our opinion, a common task should be formulated today when creating new plans and strategies for integrated development on the Eurasian continent,” the President of Turkmenistan emphasized.
Remaining an important historical phenomenon, the Great Silk Road acted not only as a trade direction, but always carried a huge civilization function in itself, ensuring the interpenetration of cultures and traditions.
