News agencies of Turkmenistan and India expand cooperation
Signing ceremony of the Memorandum on exchange of news between State News Agency of Turkmenistan and Asian News International, the biggest news agency of India has been held.
It was highlighted at the talks held in video conference format that establishment and development of partnership of Turkmenistan in the sphere of informational policy and mass media are the utmost objectives set by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for enhancement of level of international cooperation in this sphere, further integration of national mass media to the world informational space and comprehensive coverage of life of the country, international relations, improvement of authority of Turkmen state in international arena.
The ANI representatives have also been introduced with the main directions of foreign strategy of the President of Turkmenistan, which is based on the principles of neutrality and informational policy. The main vectors of Turkmen – Indian cooperation, which were specified during mutual visits of the leaders of two countries, have been highlighted among the key subjects of bilateral cooperation.
In particular, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has paid the government visit to the Republic of India in May 2010. Back then, Turkmen leader has visited famous historical and architectural attraction of Indian capital – the Abdurahim Khan Mausoleum, an outstanding representative of Turkmen nation and son of glorious Bayram Khan Turkmen. Their names have left a significant trace in centuries-old chronicle of India.
Today, these historical connections are continued on new level of development of two states including in cultural and humanitarian sphere.
The talks, which have been held between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi in Ashgabat in July 2015. Gave strong impulse to Turkmen – Indian relations. Cooperation in fuel and energy sphere has been specified as the most important direction of Turkmen – Indian relations back then.
In this case, special role is given to the project of construction of Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan – India transnational gas line (TAPI). Fulfilment of this project will allow participating countries solving number of important social and humanitarian issues. First of all, this is related to opening of additional work places, formation of social infrastructure along entire gas pipeline.
Which is most important, the implementation of major project, which was initiated by Turkmen leader, would give strong impulse to strengthening of stability and peace in the region, would connect participating states with ties of friendship and good neighbourliness stronger.
Activation of informational contacts between Turkmenistan and India is very current in the context of expanding beneficial and constructive cooperation and the milestones of growth, which have been planned during telephone conversation between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of India Ram Nath Kovind on October 15, 2020.
Back then, Turkmen leader has suggested Indian companies to review the opportunity of establishing joint high-technology production facilities in such spheres as agriculture, chemical, pharmaceutical, light industries, production of construction materials from local resources.
Thus, the dynamics of development of trade and economic relations of two states gives reason for bigger joint work in informational field.
According to the memorandum, which was signed remotely, the sides would regular exchange of operational informational, analytical data about political, economic, social, cultural and humanitarian life of Turkmenistan and India.
