Videoconference between the chess societies of Turkmenistan and Armenia in honor of the 25th anniversary of permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan

On May 1, 2020, a videoconference was held between the chess societies of Turkmenistan and Armenia in honor of the 25th anniversary of permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan.

The representatives of chess federations and academies of the two countries, masters of sports in chess, international referees and trainers of the International Chess Federation, grandmasters took part in the online meeting. The Turkmen side was headed by the Chairman of the National Chess Federation of Turkmenistan Myratdurdy Hashayev, while the Armenian side was led by the First Vice-President of the Chess Federation of Armenia, director of the Chess Academy of Armenia Smbat Lputian.

The parties emphasized the attention paid to the development of the chess sport in two countries under the leadership of the Heads of States. The contribution of the given sport in the promotion of friendship ties was also noted which matches the principles of the positive Neutrality.

During the meeting, the participants agreed to start a new format of cooperation on exchanging experience pertaining to the teaching methodology of chess, including the online sessions. The issue of training teachers and instructors on the basis of higher educational institutions and participation to the open tournaments of two friendly states was considered.
