TURKMEN-SAUDI INTER-MINISTERIAL CONSULTATIONS WERE HELD
On September 17, 2020, consultations between the foreign ministries of Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were held via videoconference. The delegations were headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud.
At the beginning of the conversation, the diplomats discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as pressing topics of the regional and international agenda.
The Foreign Ministers of the two states noted that regular meetings at various levels contribute to the intensification and deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation on all spectra of mutual interest. In this context, mutual readiness was expressed to expand bilateral dialogue and to organize visits by delegations of the two countries as the current epidemiological situation on a global scale normalizes.
During the conversation, the diplomats focused on the need to activate intensify trade and economic cooperation, build up partnerships in the oil and gas, gas chemical industries, as well as in agriculture, the textile and construction industries.
A separate topic of discussion was the creation and development of the necessary conditions for attracting investments in advanced sectors of the economy for the implementation of promising projects in the field of construction of various industrial facilities on the territory of Turkmenistan.
In this context, the importance of resuming interdepartmental meetings between representatives of Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was emphasized.
